Wiener Philharmoniker Synopsis The New Years Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic in 2017 was the 77th New Years Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic and took place on Januin the Viennese Music Association. In recognition of this work, as well as his musical achievements, Daniel Barenboim has received many international prizes and honours. From the mid-1960s, while never ceasing to perform as a pianist, he increasingly devoted himself to conducting.
